Day Training is a program for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities which provides support for these individuals during the day from 8am – 3pm. In Day Training, individuals are assisted in developing and honing the necessary skills to become more independent in the community. This service also offers prevocational skills to aid individuals in seeking and reaching employment. Day Training services are offered in Carter County.
Day Training offers many opportunities for the participants to engage in activities designed to help them gain skills in daily living, adaptive, vocational, social and self-advocacy skills. As participants begin to build upon their skills and talents, they become less reliant on paid supports, increase the use of natural supports, and more confident in their own abilities.
ELIGIBILITY:
Day Training supports are available to individuals diagnosed with an intellectual disability before their 18th birthday or developmental disability before 22nd birthday.
